This vintage black with grey pinstripe suit set was given a second chance at a new life with text reading "ME" hand-painted across the vest and pants in bold white lettering. The vest features a buttoned closure, four front pockets, and a silky back. The pants have two buttoned back pockets and two front/side pockets. These pants utilize the tailoring technique "slash and spread" which was popularized in the early 1900s and used to continue the life and expand the size of pre-existing garments. The back of the pants were "slashed" and filled with additional fabric so that they continued to fit the original owner when his waistline expanded, instead of needing to be replaced. 

We tapped into this vintage reworking method for a contemporary take: : once a long skinny leg, these bottoms were cut and restructured into shorts with a wider leg, updated for a more relevant look.
